Bid 615 Relocatable Buildings Sitework

Bid Documents

The District has awarded this project to MVC (ACHS, HHS, RCHS) and Waisman Construction (CIHS)

What is the project estimate?

As specified in Bidder’s Clarification #1, the estimated project values are:

i. Channel Islands HS – $300,000.00
ii. Adolfo Camarillo HS – $300,000.00
iii. Rancho Campana HS – $1,322,920.00
iv. Hueneme HS – $500,000.00
v. Rio Mesa HS – $1,014,648.00

What is the basis of award. The bid form breaks the 5 schools into separate “bid packages.” – will the award of this bid to multiple contractors or a single contractor?

Per the Notice to Bidders and Number 25 of Instruction to Bidders:

“The District shall award the Contract, af it awards at all on a per school site basis, to the lowest responsive responsible bidder for each school site based on the criteria as indicated in the Notice to Bidders. In the event two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids, the District shall select the Bidder to whom to award the Contract by lot.”

Based on the portable building manufacture drawings different sites get different types of building foundations. Some show the building placed on wood foundations placed on dirt (finished compacted grade) and some call for a concrete foundation system. Can owner advise on one uniform system for all schools or do we have to go by the portable building manufacturer S sheets and provide different foundation systems at each site?

Foundation System has been indicated on Cover Sheet of each site; refer to Scope of Work notes.

I’m working on the DVBE outreach for this project. I’ve gotten a DVBE list from the State’s eProcure system. Do you have a DVBE firm list of your own you would share? Do you have a list of DVBE organizations?

The District does not have a list of DVBE firms.

Question re: bid bond, since price is per package, do we issue one bid bond for the whole 5 packages or per package?

A Bid Bond is required PER package, or PER school site. Five (5) bonds are required total.

Accordion TitleJust have a question again re: bid documents for the Relocatable Buildings: Do we submit the bid form per package and each package must consist the ff for each schools (4 bid packages): a. 4 Bid Proposal b. 4 Bid Bond on the District’s form, or other security. c. 4 Designated Subcontractors List. d. 4 Site Visit Certification, if a site visit was required. e. 4 Non-Collusion Declaration. f. 4 Iran Contracting Act Certification, if contract value is $1,000,000 or more. Or One package for everything and the package will consist of: a. 1 Bid Proposal b. 4 Bid Bonds c. 4 Designated Subcontractors List. d. 1 Site Visit Certification, if a site visit was required. e. 1 Non-Collusion Declaration. f. 1 Iran Contracting Act Certification, if contract value is $1,000,000 or more.

You will need:

  1. 1 Bid Proposal
  2. 4 Bid Bonds
  3. 1 Designated Subcontractors List. (if subcontractors vary per location, please specify which location each subcontractor will be designed to)
  4. 1 Site Visit Certification, if a site visit was required.
  5. 1 Non-Collusion Declaration.
  6. 1 Iran Contracting Act Certification, if contract value is $1,000,000 or more.

Regarding these relocatable building projects, can we just request one (1) bid bond for the whole package or we have to request four (4) one per school?

You will need a bid bond for EACH school site (4 bid bonds total).

Would the District consider moving this bid to Thrs., 3/19, or later?

The District does not plan to change the bid due date.

Is there a soils report for the Rancho Campana School?

There is no soils report for RCHS. This won’t affect your ability to bid, the information needed for earthwork is on the plans already.

Just making sure that this bid will still be on schedule for Mon., Mar. 16 at 2PM.

Yes, same place, date and time.

As far as the clarifications go, do we list them where the addendums are listed?

No, since they are not titled as addenda.
