Bid 632 Rio Mesa HS Stadium Bleachers & Pacifica HS Stadium Lights

Bid Documents

All bids have been rejected.

The District intends to reject all bids on 9/23/2020 and re-bid this project.

Are these 2 separate bid packages, and if so, what is the engineer’s estimate for each?
One bid package for work at both sites.Architect’s Estimate:PHS $531,011.00RMHS $2,058,000(revised answer 8/24/2020)
Rio Mesa HS notes Simplex as the Fire Alarm manufacturer, whereas Pacifica HS notes Silent Knight. Can you please confirm if this is correct, and if not, which is the appropriate manufacturer?

For Pacifica HS: Per Addendum 0 (scope of work clarification); the Fire Alarm is NOT part of the contract for this bid.

For Rio Mesa HS; per spec section 28 46 00, the contractor shall verify and match the existing manufacture.

Please provide Scope of work required for section 271000, drawings provided do not show any Scope of work in reference to Specs provided.

Section 27 10 00 covers the scope of work relative to data/telecommunication/Av system cabling for Press Box at Rio Mesa Bleachers.

For the above referenced project, should we submit 1 or 2 bid bonds with our bid package?

A bid bond is required PER SCHOOL SITE. So yes, if you are bidding on both sites, 2 bonds should be submitted (in hard copy by bid due date and time).

Please confirm Signage is NIC

Correct. For PHS there is no signage.

Rio Mesa = The specifications do not list any sections related to Glazing or Window Systems. Scope of work note1 sheet GO1.1 indicates “new Press Box”. Sheet B26 identifies glazing of some nature. Please advise what window systems and glass should be used at the Press Box. 2. Pacifica = Door V101 door schedule indicates an Aluminum Entry Door. References to same door on sheets A1.4 and A7.1 call out note 8.04 which states Hollow Metal. Please advise what material this door is required to be.

The doors and windows are a part of the Pre-Engineered Bleacher & Press-box package.

Addenda 0 defines scope of work and it looks like any roofing is no longer in the scope. The roofing spec is NIC. Drawing G1.01 excludes item 1 and 3-6. Multiple drawings have been deleted Add 1 updates the spec Table of Contents- and it seems to be in conflict with addenda 0 Below is a print screen of G1.01 Scope.

See Addendum 0 for the Scope of Work for this Bid.

The answer to our RFI 001 is still not clear per the linked web page. The two schools are two separate bids. Got that. Is the basis of award the sum of the two bids?

The basis of award is on the lowest responsive bidder per school site.

Do you intend to split the bid and award to two different contractors?

I believe, as does our Architect, that my previous response was clear. What part do you believe is not clear? The District is making two separate awards.

I just had a quick question regarding the difference between the Bid Security Document and the Bid Bond? Is that the same document? If not, can you please help me understand.

Bid Bond and Bid Security are basically the same thing. The Bid Bond is the document taken and notarized (per the requirements in the bid docs) and Bid Security could be in cashier’s check or

certified check. Each serves the same purpose, to ensure bidder will enter into a contract if awarded.
