I did not see an estimated value of the project, could you please provide one?

The estimated value of the project is $3.75 million.

Please verify that the allotted construction duration is roughly 17.5 Weeks as noted on the Master Schedule in Document 00 01 20. Work to Commence 4/13/20 – Work Completion 8/13/20.

GC’s should assume the schedule outlined in the Bid Document. An alternate schedule can be provided, with justification, however, the District prefers to adhere to the schedule provided.

I cannot find in the bid docs for the above referenced project if it is a PLA or NON PLA. can you advise please?

This is NOT a PLA project. It is, however, subject to prevailing wage.

I wanted to confirm that substitutions (per 00 21 13) for specified lighting fixtures should be routed to you via the general contractor.

We are open to substitutions especially if it’s an equal quality fixture that also provides cost savings. Proposed substitutions should be routed to us (OUHSD) for review.

The following rooms do not have a specification for floor finish. They look like they should be Conc 1. Please define floor finish: N136, N137, N138, N139 S106, S107, S108, S110 S112, S113 S118 S133, S134, S135, S136. The hallways and one-hour corridors are also not specified. Should we assume those are not polished?

Conc 1 for all areas not noted otherwise.

Plans have Alternates in them please advise if new Bid Form in coming so that there are lines to include the alternates

Existing Columns in the suite have High and Low Outlets please advise if these are too remain or to be patched – Plans note existing outlets to remain but please confirm

Plumbing Plans do not show existing restroom work. Please advise scope in these rooms – and if so what fixtures should be priced.

Per the architectural drawings, provide pricing for all new fixtures and finishes in existing restrooms.
The specifications in the plumbing drawings for new fixtures at the expanded restrooms should be
used for the remodeled existing restrooms. However, please provide pricing for an under mount sink in lieu
of the wall mounted sink specified in the plumbing drawings.

Plumbing Booster Pump and air compressor by the loading dock are shown on demo’d per the plans. Plumbing plans show no work in this area please advise.

We would like to demo the equipment shown demoed on the architectural drawings,but if this equipment is
required for the building, it will have to remain.

Signage – please advise if scope is limited to just code required or also all shown on TA 2.2 & TA 2.3.

Could you please provide the level of finish or the specs. for the finish of concrete?

Level 3 (semi-polished) as defined by the Concrete Polishing Association of America. Please note, final finish must be in compliance with slip resistance codes.

This substitution package is generally acceptable. If the GC that is awarded the project wishes to use this package, OUHSD/Architect will submit it to the electrical engineer at that time for a more thorough review.

Do MEP subs need to be prequalified on the Oxnard Union HS – RFP 614 Construction Services – Tenant Improvements Project?

No pre-qualification needed on this project. Although Section 7.7 (7.7.1) specifies MEP Subcontractors should be pre-qualified for projects valued at $1 Million or more and uses, or plans to use, state bond funds, this particular project will NOT use state bond funds. Again, pre-qualification is NOT needed.

Please provide cut and wood species as well as required stain for all pre-finished, Stain grade doors.

Stain grade wood doors to match WP-3, see Finish Plan TA3.4.1.

question re: bid alternates is vital as nothing on the bid docs pertains to the bid alternates.

There are a few alternates listed in the drawings.

Plan sheet TA0.1 under deferred approvals calls for Fire sprinklers to be altered as needed under a separate permit. Please advise if the owner is able to provide as builds of existing system? And if not then how do the bidders bid apples to apples not knowing the existing sprinkler layout and how many drops will have to be modified due to the new construction. We recommend the owner to provide an allowance for the GCs for this scope unless existing as builds can be provided. Please advise.

Per architect, I do not know if fire sprinkler as-builts are available. The GC should provide an allowance if they are not comfortable providing a hard number.

Please provide a written description for each Bid alternate 1-6

The few alternates that we have are found in the drawings, the GC can number them however they choose.

typically the bid form will list alternates by number and description. those numbers will correlate with the notes on the plans (example: use existing hardware Alternate #2) . there is no way to know what bid alternate on the plans correlate with on the bid docs. also it doesn’t say if bid will be awarded based on base bid or base bid with alternates.

The Solar Drive project will be awarded on the basis of the base bid and NOT in combination with any “alternates.” Responses the the “alternates” are optional and not required for this award.

I heard Oxnard Unified School District will be closed next week. Are the bid openings still going as scheduled?

Yes, our Bond Project Manager will handle receiving bids. Due to the social distancing protocol, we may take bids and email out the results instead of opening them at the bid time. That will be determined soon. They are to be delivered no later than bid due date/time to 309 South K Street, Oxnard, Building G.

The bid pack for Tenant Improvement includes Exhibit A Bid Form Detailed Cost. Would you provide us a form for it to fill out or do we just make our own?

Also, if we could submit this 48 hours after the bid as we are getting prices from subcontractors 5 minutes before the bid time. There is no way to submit the detailed cost before then.

The District will allow Exhibit A Bid Form Detailed Cost (contractor supplied) to be turned in within 48-hours of the bid due date and time, or no later than March 19 at 2:00 p.m.
